BALLET

Description: In this class, students will learn basic isolations and stylized steps with a lower center of gravity than what is practiced in ballet. The class will incorporate strength building exercises & will extend students’ technical skills through center and progression work. Skills such as leaps and turns are incorporated into choreographed routines which challenge the dancers’ jazz and memory skills.

Dresscode: Tight Fitting Clothing that allows the instructor to see the students body placement. Jazz shoes or Bear paws (Recommended attire: Leotard or athletic top with tights, leggings, or yoga/jazz pants.)  Hair must be pulled back in a bun or ponytail

TAP

Description: Rhythm, timing, and agility will be a focal point during this class which builds coordination.

Dresscode: Leotard, tights, or fitted shirts or tank tops with jazz pants or shorts that allows the instructor to see the students body placement and feet. Tap shoes are required.

COMBO

Description: This class is offered to children, ages 3-9.  Every week the classes alternate from ballet/jazz to ballet/tap. Children are introduced to the basic movements of each style.

Dresscode: Leotard (any color) and Tights (pink). Tight Fitting Clothing that allows the instructor to see the students body placement. Jazz, Tap, and Ballet shoes are required.

 

JAZZ

HIP HOP

Description: Movements such as: isolations, popping, locking, & free-style will all be a focal point of this athletic and energetic dance style. Students will learn age-appropriate choreography.

Dresscode: Can wear street clothes with sneakers or dance sneakers.

 

CONTEMPORARY

Description: Contemporary Dance is a style of expressive dance that combines elements of dance several genres including: modern, jazz, lyrical, and ballet.  Contemporary stresses versatility and improvisation.

Dresscode: Tight Fitting Clothing that allows the instructor to see the students body placement. Jazz Shoes or Foot Undies. (Recommended attire: Leotard or athletic top with tights, leggings, or yoga/jazz pants.)  Hair must be pulled back in a bun or ponytail.

ACTING/SCENE STUDY

DescriptionWe will cover all theatre related materials for all levels of acting, from beginner to Intermediate and Advanced.  Learn from theatre professionals, those working in the industry directly what it takes to be an actor in the theatre today..  

Dresscode: No restrictions

TUMBLING/ACRO

Description: The sport of acrobatics and tumbling is the evolution of different skill sets used in gymnastics. In our tumble/acro classes, students will learn tumbling and flexibility tricks  that will eventually be used in their dance context.

Dresscode: Tight Fitting Clothing that allows the instructor to see the students body placement  Hair must be pulled back in a bun or ponytail.

STRETCH & STRENGTH

Description: Students will work on muscle strengthening and toning excercises, as well excercies to improve their flexibilty.

Dresscode: Comfortable clothing that allows for movement.

NOTE: No JEANS will be allowed in any dance class.
